Submission Note: Self-control needed on this one!! These taste so decadent that you will definitely want to eat more than one! It’s a healthy way to get some good fats and magnesium into you while you are enjoying a sweet treat! Bonus: your kids/grandkids will love it and won’t even know it’s a healthy substitute to milk chocolate unhealthy treats.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup raw cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup melted coconut oil
- ¼ cup smooth almond butter or unsweetened peanut butter
- ¼ cup real maple syrup
- ½ tsp vanilla
Optional Ingredients: a handful of crushed walnuts or almonds, use honey instead of maple syrup, cashew or a different type of smooth nut butter if you prefer a different flavour or there is an allergy.
Directions:
- Add all ingredients into a mixing bowl.
- Mix well until the almond or peanut butter is blended smoothly with the other ingredients. It will make a thick batter.
- Pour into a silicone baking mold container or ice cube tray using a spoon. Make sure that the trays you use to make your chocolates isn’t too large to keep portions under control.
- Once in the container, place in the freezer, (make sure to lie it flat) and let sit for 15 minutes. They are then ready to serve.
Recipe Notes: Leave in the freezer and just pop one out of the tray when craving a sweet snack 😉 Enjoy and remember to share!! XO
