Body Sculpt @ Baila Studio

Using a combo of free weights, body weight resistance moves, along with some serious ab & glute work, it will definitely be a full body workout. If you are looking to get stronger and leaner you won’t want to miss this class!

Know before you go:  Bring weights, a mat, and a water bottle. ALL moves are modifiable; can do low impact version, less weights, & slower pace.   We will use weights, your own body weight, gliders, and do ab work on our mats to get you the results you are looking for.

Barre @ Baila Studio

Develop long, lean muscles, enhance flexibility and improve balance.  Many say that after only five classes you will start seeing changes in your body in strength gained and more toned in those hard-to-target muscles. Best part: Anyone—no matter their age or fitness level—can hit the barre and get results. The barre is used as a prop to balance while doing exercises that focus on isometric strength training (holding your body still while you contract a specific set of muscles), combined with high reps of small range-of-motion movements.

Length: 1 hr

Type of activity: low impact, focus is on sculpting long lean muscles, flexibility, improving posture, core toning focus.

Fitness Level:  ALL

Know before you go:  This is a popular class, so if you want a good spot at the barre arrive 5-10 minutes early.  Bring a maximum of 3 lb weights, yoga mat, and a flex band.   Normally done in bare feet or with grippy socks (optional) unless you have foot /ankle issues and need shoe support. Grippy socks and flex bands sold at the studio.

What to expect:  A leg burn, sore abs the next day, and a guaranteed booty lift IF you attend weekly   We use props like mini stability balls and flex bands to keep the intensity up. About 30 minutes is barre work, 10 minutes with weights for upper body, and we finish with 15-20 minutes of floor work for core.

Groove @ Baila Studio

As we age, maintaining muscle mass is critical.  Groove class will not only help you maintain it, but build it!! A combination of strength training (low weights and high reps), cardio intervals, and toning, this class promises to work your whole body in a fun and lively manner.  Anyone can join no matter age or fitness level. This class goes all year long every Tuesday & Thursday.

Length: 1 hour

Type of activity:  Weights & low impact cardio

Fitness Level:  All

Know before you go:  You need 1 lb or 2 lb weights, water bottle, indoor shoes and comfortable workout gear you can move in.   Come a few minutes early to familiarize yourself with the studio and find a spot.   

What to expect:  Although women of all ages are welcome, the majority are active ladies 50+ yrs of age. We will use free weights (low weights, high reps), mini stability balls, and sliding gliding discs to help work on balance, legs, core, and arm strength.  There is no mat/floorwork.  Always expect a little bit of fun in the cardio segments to raise heart rate to great music!  You will be surprised how much you will feel your muscles the next day. Low impact moves can make you sweat and really work it!
